LA Animal Services and The Pet Care Foundation to Host Basic Black this Weekend!
Los Angeles, September 18, 2019 – On September 21st and 22nd the Paula Kent Meehan Pet Care Foundation will sponsor the Basic Black pet adoption event at all six LA City Animal Services Centers. This event promises to help find homes for the hundreds of black cats and dogs that reside at LA Animal Services Centers. These companion animals are often overlooked due to their black fur, which is surprising as they look sleek, smooth and very elegant with their shiny coat.
A $50 discount will be applied towards adoption fees for puppies and dogs that have primarily black fur. All cats and kittens have their adoption fees waived thanks to a generous grant from the ASPCA.
“Drawing attention to these beautiful animals is a great effort on the part of The Pet Care Foundation. LA Animal Services is grateful to have their support with these adoption events, their TV show, and their grooming programming. All are bringing us closer and closer to our no-kill goal,” said Brenda Barnette, General Manager for LA Animal Services.
