LA Animal Services is Offering FREE Cat Spay/Neuter Surgeries Now through April 30, 2020

The FREE Spay/Neuter Certificates for Cats Are Available to All LA City Residents

Los Angeles, March 4, 2020 – With the warmer months approaching, kitten season will soon be upon us. In order to prevent unwanted litters, LA Animal Services is offering FREE Spay/Neuter Certificates to all cat owners in the City of Los Angeles to encourage the spaying and neutering of their feline friends now through April 30, 2020.

The FREE Spay & Neuter Certificates are available by going online or visiting your nearest LA Animal Services Center — there are six throughout Los Angeles. The FREE Spay & Neuter Certificates are available to all LA City residents and covers the cost of a companion animal’s sterilization at participating veterinary hospitals, spay/neuter clinics, and mobile spay/neuter clinics.

“Last year, LA Animal Services saw a 20 percent increase in the number of kittens being brought into our Centers in May and June,” said Brenda Barnette, LA Animal Services General Manager. “By spaying and neutering your companion cat, you’re helping to reduce unwanted kitten births in the City.”

This program is available for residents of the City of Los Angeles who are 18 years of age or older. Each household is allowed to have three cats. FREE spay or neuter surgeries are for companion cats only. Stray animals are excluded. Once a FREE Certificate is received, it must be redeemed at participating veterinary hospitalsspay/neuter clinics, and mobile spay/neuter clinics within 10 days of issuance.
