LA Animal Services Thanks Maddie’s Fund® for the Pet Foster Care Stimulus Grant

This generous Grant will provide support for the life-saving Foster Program

Los Angeles, May 28, 2020LA Animal Services is grateful to Maddie’s Fund® for awarding the department with their Pet Foster Care Stimulus Grant. The $20K grant will go towards LA Animal Services’ life-saving foster program.

“The Pet Foster Care Stimulus Grant from Maddie’s Fund will support our foster program and help many of our companion animals in our Services Centers take a break from shelter life,” said Brenda Barnette, LA Animal Services General Manager. “Foster parents provide our animals with socialization in a loving home as they wait for us to find them a home of their own. In addition, when our furry friends go into foster care, we have space for other lost and orphaned pets who need our care.”

If you are interested in fostering one of our amazing pets, here are the steps to follow:

  • Visit laanimalservices.com/adopt

to see our animals and identify one to three animals you may want to foster, and get their Animal ID number or A# (example:A1234567)

  • Email the volunteer liaison at ani.volunteers@lacity.org with your completed foster application

(if you have not fostered before) with the Animal ID number(s) of the pets you want to meet.

  • We will contact you once your application is reviewed to schedule an appointment.
