LA Animal Teams Up with the ASPCA for National Adoption Weekend
as Part of National Campaign, June 5-7
Los Angeles, June 5, 2020 —Considering adding a furry friend to your family? There’s no better time than now! LA Animal Services is thrilled to partner with the ASPCA for National Adoption Weekend from Friday, June 5 through Sunday, June 7. We’ll also keep it safe by helping you complete your adoption application from home before you come in to meet your new family pet. As part of this adoption weekend, LA Animal Services will provide a department discount of $50 off of adoption fees for dogs and puppies. Cat and kitten fees are waived thanks to the generous grant from the ASPCA.
For more information about the ASPCA National Adoption Weekend, including a comprehensive map of participating animal shelters and rescue groups, click here. This initiative will encourage the public—including people currently caring for foster animals—to complete adoptions from their homes to safely place thousands of orphaned dogs and cats into adoptive homes across the country. During this period of uncertainty, it’s more important than ever for people to consider adopting a new animal to make you feel better, but also to free up space and resources for other vulnerable animals in need.
Although our LA Animal Services Centers are open by appointment only, you can still adopt a pet today. If you are interested in adopting from LA Animal Services, here are the steps to follow:
- Visit www.laanimalservices.com/adopt and identify an animal you’d like to adopt
- Call 1-888-452-7381 with the Animal ID number or A# (example: A1234567)
- LA Animal Services will share all the information available on that animal
- If you’re interested in moving forward with the adoption, LA Animal Services will take your information and complete the adoption paperwork by phone
- LA Animal Services will schedule a pick-up appointment
- During the appointment, staff will introduce you to your selected animal.
- Please be advised, due to city orders, no more than 10 people are permitted in a facility at a time.
Happy Adoption Tails
Rocky, formerly known as Captain, is doing great in his new home after being adopted in early May! “Rocky is the best dog we have ever adopted,” said Rocky’s new family. “He is calm, but playful. We take him everywhere.”
Daisy’s family only intended on fostering, but fell in love with her sweet and happy demeanor. Daisy is a foster fail and has officially been adopted!
If you have adopted or are currently fostering a four-legged friend from LA Animal Services, we would love to hear from you! Tell us about your experience by filling out this form, and your story may get shared on our social media channels!
